Unfortunately, this has always been Zezenia’s story: a game that had everything to succeed, yet never truly did.
We constantly hear the same phrases: “Zezenia has huge potential.” “One day the game will explode.” But that day never comes. The reality is simple: Zezenia will never truly grow until its owner understands who the real audience for this style of game is. Today, the strongest community for 2D MMORPGs is the South American community — not only Brazilians, but Latinos in general. Anyone who has been involved in this genre for years already knows this. We saw it happen with Eldrius — the launch was packed. We are seeing it happen with Drakantos — the game is still being developed and already has a massive and active community around it. That is the reality of this genre. There are hundreds of South American players who spend 8, 10, sometimes even more hours a day playing games like this. They are not casual players. They are loyal players. They create guilds, wars, rivalries, communities, streams, content, and long-term engagement. Zezenia itself had one of its biggest peaks when it was promoted by the Brazilian streamer Cateroide. At this point, there are only two realistic paths forward: Create an SA server, or heavily focus marketing and visibility toward the SA community. And honestly, if that does not happen, the game will continue being what it has always been: a promise of success that never arrives. Let’s be honest — Zezenia follows the same classic formula as games like Tibia and Ragnarok Online. Anyone searching for this type of MMORPG will naturally compare it to those games, because they defined this genre for an entire generation. And if you look at OT servers and private server communities, the most consistent and active audience has always been Latinos, especially Brazilians. They are the players who consume the content. They are the players who stay online daily. They are the players who keep PvP, wars, hunts, and server rivalries alive month after month. That is simply the truth. Either the game is directed toward this audience, or it will continue being “the game that almost made it.” Want proof of the size of this community? Right now: Aegis has fewer players online than Pharos. Right now: RubinOT has more players online than the official Tibia servers. The audience exists. The demand exists. The community exists. The only question is whether Zezenia is finally willing to acknowledge it. |

Yeah, unfortunately, that’s the sad end—at least for me—of Zezenia! I waited a long 14 years, spending time making YouTube videos and Twitch content, all for a game that I, just like you, saw as having huge potential—to be bigger than Tibia, in my view! All that for what? To see people who, in just two months, have basically reached the same level as me. I’m partly upset about this because I wasted a lot of time and money on this game. All games evolve; I understand that it’s much easier to level up today. But unfortunately, there are only two or three high-level hunts. There’s little high-level content, few hunts, and not much variety in high-level content, so it’s become extremely boring. Anyway, I’m calling it quits here (basically 6 months ago); I never want to play Zezenia online again.
I’m tired of waiting! Good luck to those who stay! |

Pharos does not have more active players then aegis .
RubiniOT is successful just like Medivia because they do not allow cheating of any sorts. Both those games also have active staff members that check on the game daily, big advertisement and pay big teams to play there game. Rubini, a popular streamer and a personal friend of mine grew his platform and had a lot of money into advertising his game . What truly killed this game and the reason nobody wants to start new is because of these absurd hardcore spawns that allowed players to reach 1700 in a short period of time and the lack of real balance. The game has been very low populated since Titan was allowed to transfer at high level, blaming Aegis is just a cry because Aegis has more active players then Pharos has in the last 2 years . Also real gamers and big war teams in rubiniOt , medivia , tibiaOts get paid by the owners to play and bring war to the game , something zezenia doesn’t do . If you thought for the last 14 years that zezenia was going to pop off and have tibia numbers, you have been living a lie . |

It's actually funny, Cream...You played for 2 years with only 3 guys on Pharos when KZ was about to sell the game.
There’s nothing to do in Pharos anymore. It’s been almost a year and a half with no new content. How are people supposed to keep playing when there’s no content? Odama and Matheuszinho must dream about gecks at this point, because that’s all the game has level 700 to infinity, just gecks nonstop. Why don’t you join us and ask for new content instead? You only think about yourself, never about the community. Then you come to the forum making pretty little posts like nobody knows who you are. |

In your own comment, it really sounds like you see Titan as a mistake, yet you strongly agreed to replicate the same model now, even knowing it harms the game, but your frustration is understandable. Good thing Pharos doesn’t have more active players than Aegis hehe. ![]() But seriously, do you think that if Titan had never existed and respawns had followed the old model of small monster spots, it would have helped retain players and grow the population on both Pharos and Elysium? Personally, I find those types of respawns boring unless there are NEW, really STRONG monsters, not just one or two every couple of years |

Using sandbox to show Pharos has more players then Aegis is smart idea for someone who tries to prove his point. Just look at experience taken daily.
Dont get me wrong the new hardcore spawns are fun and all but the experience you can gain being a high lvl from them makes new players or old players not want to play. You cant get new players to zezenia to start at 2x experience from lvl 1 knowing there are many level 1k-2ks. But seriously, dont you agree that this is the most numbers Zezenia has seen in a long time ? Im not bragging the numbers are still extremely low if you compare it to other games and o.ts . And to answer the question of Millasz, why would I as a player who just made an account and have many things to do ask for new content when there is many things to do. Also what will new content really achieve for you guys, they make a new spawn and after 1-2 months you will be bored or it right ? Anyways i do agree with you, after we kicked you guys from Aegis the server got really boring :( |

Right now: Aegis has fewer players online than Pharos. Right now: RubinOT has more players online than the official Tibia servers. The audience exists. The demand exists. The community exists. The only question is whether Zezenia is finally willing to acknowledge it. I agree with much of what you said, but a South American server, as happy as it would make me, wouldn’t be healthy for the game right now. Splitting an already small player base like that would probably do more harm than good, and the servers that are already empty would become even worse. About your second point on marketing, the game already had a huge player peak when Cateroide promoted it, as you mentioned. One or two years ago, even if it wasn’t a massive jump, the Brazilian streamer Bigodezerah also promoted the game and significantly increased the number of players during that seasonal server. Doing strong marketing in the game’s current state would basically be the definition of insanity. In my view, the first issue they should focus on is player retention. Aggressive marketing is pointless if you bring in 150 or 300 players and six months later fewer than 50 are still playing. So the real question is how. I don’t know the exact answer, but the STAFF should create an official forum or Discord thread where players can share ideas to improve retention and give people more to do besides leveling. In public in-game or Discord channels, many players have ideas, but almost none of them share them. Increasing the player base also indirectly increases PVP. The second point is that Zezenia’s party system is TERRIBLE. They need a party system that actually makes it worth the effort to invite other players. This has been said many times. It KEEPS players in the game longer, but for that to work they need HUNTS for GROUPS that support at least six players, which is the party bonus limit. The third point is class imbalance. Every balance update makes one class extremely powerful. In the second-to-last class balance update, the Warlock was stronger in both PvE and PvP compared to the Pyromancer. Now it’s the Rangers turn; another balance update later this year will probably nerf Rangers and make another class extremely powerful. In the end, the game needs content. Those crazy monster-packed respawns are a consequence of the lack of new monsters, and I personally find them very fun. But the game also needs to generate revenue, maybe starting with simple house cosmetics that can only be purchased with premium cards. |
