Also I am aware that my opinion is biased, hence I encouraged as much feedback as possible, I'm looking for a ray of hope.

Every other class has its unique feature that can be turned in to something bigger (rogues/pyros invis, paladins/shamans heal, barbarians/warlocks locate), while marksmen make bolts. What would you have their co-up spells do, create massive amount of bolts? Excatly. There is the reason and excatly this is the problem. Why would you pick marksman when it is there just to make rest perfect? It has nothing cool there (expect speed boost which I like, still not enough). It doesn't have any ability which would be the thing. Taunt.. People usually says how cool it is, but 90% of those people has actually never used it. I still say that rogue's evasion is more useful, taunt works better only when fighting versus pyromancer. Create bolts, well, simple way to get better magic lvl, but using spell won't give you any cheaper bolts, bit more expensive than buying from shop. So, it's only to get better magic lvl faster for other spells. Iron Endurance, really nice spell, this and buff was the reasons I picked this sub-class+that I had alrdy tried 2 rogues. Anyway, it last really long, that's nice, it has 3 min cooldown after you lose speed boost, that's okay. But, god if you fail with speed boost, so damn long cooldown, rly annoys. Tho, even it annoys, I wouldn't actually change spell at all. Buff, I can't say much because I got not enough magic lvl for it, but it seems nice. Not really anything awesome, but nice. But, after those, there's like nothing. Marksman needs some ability, something that makes them special, because at the moment people who picks rangers see only that "hmm, which one take, create bolts, taunt and easier to become top or anti-locate, stealth" and around 90% cases people pick rogue. E: Also what I was quite disapointed that there is 3 main classes, but still paladin and shaman shared all spells together. In my opinion it would made sense that they atleast share spells with rangers, and since rogue is more specialized to pvp, marksman would fit perfectly there, but no.. E2: And just to point out, I really like that you have made so damn many new spells. You have done really nice job, but just feels like you haven't put effort to marksman. Like you would made spells to others, then think that who needs someone to support, let's put marksman there. |

What I meant is that less popular subclasses are getting more attention. Well, yea, that's true. But, still if your classes's 2 coolest spells are supporting other sub-class's abilities and you have to wait like half year more to have enough players of those classes with high enough level, it bit demotivates. It would be okay if there would be something with marksman. But, there is just missing marksman's thing. The thing which makes it special. And because it is missing, it rly annoys that you just gotta wait untill others exp up high enough lvl so you are actually needed. There's nothing more annoying than feeling that you aren't needed. And that feeling is already often in mind with ranger because you can't block, but neither hit as much as mages. |

After reviewing all the spells on my friend lauxes's website the zezenia journal I can see that the staff did a good job on balancing the 2 warrior classes and barbarians are looking pretty sweet now and from the looks of things the mage classes will be more balanced they werent too bad before but im sure now they are near spot on.
However, this thread is about the marksman and rogue balancing and it seems to me like the staff kinda failed at balancing these 2 subclass vocations. keeping in mind that the rogue is already the most favored and clearly best subclass of a ranger at the moment lets see what was added to the game to balance the subclasses. Rogue-spread shot vs. marksman-Piercing shot to be honest i dont know anything about these spells only from what ive read it sounds like the spread shot is better and that piercing shot is hard to use or something. Precision- awesome spell that both classes have. OTHER MARKSMAN SPELLS Razing- could be useful under certain circumstances if your trapped or trying to get to a target and there are a decent amount of pyros on zezenia now. Instant transmission- dont worry about what it does because there is no pyromancer who is strong enough to use it maybe in a few months there will be and a marksman better hope that he is with him and his friend. Increased Yield - once again no barbarian is strong enough to use it so it dosent really matter what is does another useless spell. ROGUES SUPER AWESOME NEW SPELLS Short escape- amazing spell invisible for 6 seconds with a speed boost even during combat making it like a godly super evasion and a good way for a smart rogue to be near unkillable if he gets his get away in the 6 seconds before it runs out. Cloak of Darkness- make whole party unlocatable once again a very good spell to not let the enemy know where your team is weather you are on the run or trying to sneak up on them. Mass Dissapearance- once again an awesome spell that makes the whole team go invisible im not 100% sure what the cost is for pyromancers to cast this with a rogue but either way its a cool spell if your able to use it and a great combo with cloak of darkness. So I may not be some big fancy city lawyer but it appears to me that an update that was supposed to balance subclasses did a great job for mages and warriors but seemed to make the favorite ranger subclass(rogue) even better and kept the marksman(kinda crappy sub class) just as useless as ever. |

I agree about the instant transmission. Would be a better idea to have more than just the marksmen to support this. Every time I hunt in a big group, it is lacking a marksmen. Perhaps rogues or another mage could also be able to support the pyro for this spell? It would create better chances that I actually can use the group teleport.

In the instant transmission case, it's the marksman waiting on you :) In saying that, you can still tele yourself so there's no way you would be at any inconvenience. |
