Greetings,
I'd just like to ask if there is any way to filter advertisements that pop out on the main page so there would be no Zezenia-like games ads on the site. I've already encountered two Tibia-related ads on the main page of the website in last two days.

Here's a pic:

I believe that's due to you visiting sites like Tibia.com and Tibiacast, it relates to your "surfing" behaviour If I am not mistaken. Anyway, isn't like an addon or something like that you can download? Like adblocker.

It's not a problem for me - I'm most likely thinking about new players that would visit Zezenia. I mean - if you'd enter a Coca-Cola site, and there would be a Pepsi advertisement on it - what would you think? ;)

Secondly - I didn't enter Tibia.com site for months and I've never visited Tibiacast site. (I'm the only person that uses this PC.) There was a similar situation on Tibia.com years ago. There was an advertisement of some Tibia bot, on the main page of Tibia website, but their staff took it off in quite a hurry ;)

Almost as bad as facebug, google also has the habit of storing various things they can get hold of to use it to their advantage. I've heard various people say they even store the time & ip anytime somebody is on a page that is sort of having anything of google on it (such as the google ads here), like facebug stores everything whenever you come across a "Like" button (even if you don't click it). Now since many of our players also visit Tibia websites, google of course has this data saved already and therefore shows the relevant Tibia ad. I personally actually don't care, 99% here know Tibia and if anybody is going to go back there, they are not gonna go back over a random google ad but for other reasons, so as long a we get money for it, they can for my sake even post a grouphug picture of CipSoft there.

Don't have to, like I said and Hyuga too, it relates to your surfing behaviour. I myself come across these MMORPG advertisements too because I voted for Zezenia on MMORPG100.com. Aside from that, you should take a look at addons and extensions for your browser.

It doesn't necessarily depend on your own surfing behaviour, not at all, actually perhaps even the opposite. But what google adsense is gonna do is check what webpages people who use Zezenia also use, and Tibia is probably a good draw there, now if they see that that is the case and then realize somebody doesn't visit Tibia regularely, he could get a Tibia ad.

Think of it like this:

You love to eat ice cream, your favourite flavour is vanilla. Months ago, you were used to banana, and 90% of the people who like vanilla also like banana, the salesman knows that. As the salesman wants to provide you with ice cream you like (in googles case, ads that you think are relevant for you, Zezenia = MMORPG, Tibia = MMORPG, so an ad about racehorse diets is probably not as relevant here) and notices you like vanilla and also knows that most people who like vanilla like / have been liked banana, then he offers them banana to see if they know about it yet and would like to taste it.

The ads are based on the website content. Since Tibia gets mentioned a lot on our forums, and is also a "2d mmorpg", it's pretty logical that those ads appear. It is possible to filter out websites one-by-one from showing up, but that's a lot of work and I'll never get them all.

And obviously, nobody is going to leave Zezenia for Tibia. :)

Considering most left Tibia for Zezenia... I think so as well ;)
