Well, at some point during my childhood, around 2008, I came across a thread on the Tibia forum where a guy was talking about how he had discovered an incredible game, something similar to Tibia, but that wasn’t Tibia or an OTServ. It had unique sprites, monsters, and a completely new and innovative gameplay and PvP system.
I visited the website to check it out and found something extremely new, different, and fun, without that madness of a map packed with players everywhere. There was also the promise that it would be everything Phobos never was, while offering for free all the content that Tibia charged a lot of money for. I was fascinated by everything I saw, especially the ability to sit down with your character. Throughout all these years, countless hours of gameplay, thousands of people I met, so many stories, moments, events, fights, and everything else, in a completely alive and pulsating ecosystem, with people insanely passionate about this game called Zezenia. But now, after so many years, seeing something that was part of practically my entire childhood, teenage years, and adult life in such a state of abandonment awakens a feeling of sadness, as if I were watching the slow death of a loved one up close, suffering and knowing they could die at any moment. I believe many others share this same feeling. Over the past few days, YouTube has recommended several war videos from 10, 12, 14, and 16 years ago. Watching those videos, remembering what the game was like when they were recorded, and then remembering what the game is like today only reinforces this feeling even more. But, after all, what is the point of saying all this? It is simply a desperate plea from someone who, just like many others, doesn’t want to see something that was such a huge part of their life, filled with glorious moments and incredible memories, simply disappear in such an insignificant way, as it is happening now. Let Zezenia have the chance, at least once in its history, to be in the hands of someone who at least tried to make the game into something as great as it was meant to be. Someone who dedicates every moment of their existence to making sure that this game, which is so important to so many people, can survive, take its last breath, and who knows, maybe one day become what it was always meant to become. From someone who, 17 years and 9 months ago, discovered what Zezenia Online is. Thank you. |

I truly feel that this game is in the hands of someone who sees it more as a hobby than the rare gem it actually is. Someone who doesn’t have the time—or perhaps the willingness—to make the game grow, yet would rather keep it locked in place and slowly watch it fade than see it entrusted to another staff that could bring fresh ideas, attract new players, and gradually invest in the layers that make this game special: its RPG depth and its PvP.
Unfortunately, the staff has become increasingly closed off, and those in charge seem unwilling to acknowledge the obvious: despite the latest updates, this game deserves so much more. It has the foundation, the identity, and the potential to be something truly special. What it needs is someone willing to nurture that potential, not simply hold onto it. Watching that opportunity slowly disappear is honestly the most frustrating part. |
