Warlocks are in desperate need of a rework - this is clearly evident by looking at the active player base and the results of the recent seasonal world. Currently, the gameplay for all subclasses is almost identical: pull as many monsters as possible and farm them down using AOE spells.
The Warlock was originally intended to be a powerful Single Target mage, but in the current meta, that identity simply doesn't work. All Hardcore spawns and high-end hunts are designed around spamming AOE spells. What if we turned the Warlock into something completely unique? It could be a subclass that is truly devastating against a single target, which would finally set it apart from the others. The Proposal: The change could be very simple. Let's rework the Curse spell to function differently on monsters, providing a massive damage boost against a single target. This would allow Warlocks to efficiently hunt powerful, individual monsters. • Mechanic: Curse could have a 5–8 second cooldown. • Effect: When active on a monster, the Warlock deals double PvE damage to that specific target. This small adjustment would redefine the Warlock's niche, making it the go-to subclass for single-target efficiency rather than just another AOE farmer. |
