After playing shaman for a a while, both Elysium and seasonal servers, heres my take about it
1- Beast Call Great change, but still clunky and weak. Serves as a supportive tool mid box, but you can barely notice its presence once the overlure is stabilized, does a lil healing here and there but nothing crazy and game changing, if it got removed, no one would notice tbh. The poison dmg it does after vanishing is RIDICULOUS, the area is fine, but it deals 16 per tic on a lv 100 shaman, it deals less dmg than my wand, it desperately needs an adjust on the dmg formula. Overall, great job, but lacks poison tick dmg once dead; 2- Mortal Melody HUGE, theres nothing to add, its insane how good this spell is right now with such little changes but huge identity, having a decent spell to play with that gives the class more identity instead of just using Whirlwind is 11/10, shamans needed it. Proposals for the mage class + shaman changes Theres a reason why pyromancers are so good and excells on their jobs compared to other mages (excpet obviously the massive AoE everyones exhausted of talking, not talking about thet bs here), and that is not needing to aim spell or turn backways to use any of their spells, they only have to worry about surviving and targeting monsters, their skill level is not locked behind having to press six thousand buttons in order to hit spells, just targeting monsters. Propostal 1 Make every spell targeted without the need to turn your character to face the right direction. If the targeted monster is left, spells either: A- Will be used around the target just like Hailstorm, Thunderbolt, Meteor Shower, Fire Rain for AoE targeted spells; B- Will be used left regardless of where your character is facing, so the spell always goes the right direction; Same could be applied to ranger spells, its hella exhausting to have to turn your character sideways every 2 secs in order to be effective. *Spells that would be changed listed bellow* (Hope I haven't forgot any spells) Shockwave; Piercing Shot; Spread Shot; Whirlwind; Advanced Soulfire; Heat Wave; Mortal Melody; Cross of Annihilation Reasons why changing it? Lack of usage/miss use of said spells, exhaustion during hunts for excessive need to aim, would also solve some of warlocks problems, for instance. Proposal 2 Adding a debuff to warlock spells in order to make the subclass useful, wanted in teamhunts and have a little identity back. Make Cross of Annihilation apply a debuff similar to Curse and Piercing Shot to all monsters hit, increasing all dmg dealt by players on a party. Reason why to change it? Warlock has no identity and theres no reason to play it instead of other subclasses. Lack of interest, dmg, utility and versatility, nowadays you're only a AoE shooter that deals less dmg than a pyromancer but has less overall utility than shamans. I would also suggest a total rework of warlock spells since there are no longer single target hunts in the game and warlocks lack identity nowadays. |
