Here's a guide on how to get used to playing Zezenia
Here is how your screen should look when you log into the game the first time. The first thing you should take notice of is your "People" menu. It has the capital letters F - E - G for friends/enemies/group members(guilds from other games). The numbers show how many of each you have respectively. At first you will have 0 - 0 - 0 until you make some friends, foes, or join one of the many groups. ![]() This is showing you how you fix your screen to make some more room for opened containers/information such as the people list and your character status. Notice the red arrow near the top right pointing to a small cog/gear; it opens the options menu. Alternatively you can hold the ctrl button and press O to open the options menu. When you are there, select use Double UI as shown by the yellow/green arrow. This will open up the whole left side of the screen to put containers/menus in, and will relocate the hotkeys to the top of the screen. ![]() On this picture you can see I moved my People menu and Character Status to the top left of the screen because these only show information and I don't need to use them often. I keep the right side of the screen empty to show more open containers/dead bodies. Feel free to adjust your menus to a way that you feel comfortable with. !!Note: I forgot to add a picture about it, but you can put menus in the middle of the playing screen. You can drag your backpack near your character or up near your hotkeys; wherever you want it. ![]() If you look down at picture 4 you'll see I've circled and pointed to the first hotkey box "f1." Right click this button to open your spell list. ![]() You start Zezenia with all the spells available for your character class, but you cannot use them until you have the magic level required to cast the spell. You start with 0 for magic level so go ahead; select the only spell you can currently use (weak healing), and click choose. ![]() In this picture you can see on your f1 hotkey is the picture of weak healing. If you press f1 it will activate, no fancy incantation needed for casting; it just requires mana. You start with 0 mana but for weak healing you need 10 mana. You'll have 10 mana once you reach level 3. Complete the starter quests to get to level 3 quickly. See this thread here: -> http://www.zezeniaonline.com/forum/thread/843.html ![]() In this picture you can see the default right click menu. It pops up any time there is more than one action that can be completed by right clicking on that square. In this situation, the options are either to attack the swarm standing on the square under the ladder, or to use the ladder and go up to escape the monsters. ![]() In this picture I've shown you what it looks like if multiple monsters die on the same square. It gives you a list of all the bodies on the square that you can open. As shown, the monster on the bottom of the list is the one that was most recently killed, and the one at the top of the list is the one that died on that square first. ![]() If you don't want to keep being bothered with choosing which body you want to open, and instead you just want to open the body on top of the pile/the one you just killed, then perhaps you want to use the classic right click(no menu) option in the options menu. To get to options, click the little gear or use ctrl + o. ![]() Be careful however, because with classic control enabled (no menu), attacking a monster or player is ALWAYS the priority over using ladders/opening bodies. Basically, if a monster is under the ladder square, you will not be able to use the ladder and instead you will attack the monster. If a player steps on a monster's corpse while your trying to open it, you will attack the player and gain the red skull mark which lets them kill you justifiably. It's impossible to attack players on Sakanrel, but this will be an important factor once you get to the main land. If you want to use default menu right click (like I do), you can hold ctrl + right click to disable the menus temporarily without having to switch from default right click to classic right click. ![]() To change your outfit from the default starter outfit, hold shift and right click yourself. This menu will open, allowing you to change your outfit/hair/beard/colors/skin shade. ![]() This next picture shows you how to follow players by holding shift and clicking them. I'm demonstrating on a npc. Click the arrow two boxes right of the options menu (gear) to follow monsters/players after you choose to attack them. ![]() This picture shows that if you hold ctrl and left click an object or item, it will show you the details of the object. In this case I'm looking at a knife, and as you can see it has 1.5/1.5 stats. The first one shows attack and the second shows defence. The atk and def stats of equipment influences your melee and defending skills that determine your damaging/blocking power. Note: You do NOT need a shield to train/advance in defending skill; all equipment (weapons, armors, helmets, boots, etc) have a defense value. ![]() The next 3 pictures show some good starter caves. They are self explanatory. ![]() ![]() ![]() This picture shows how you can use the temple npc to be healed. ![]() I hope this tutorial helps people to get used to playing the game. Good luck, have fun, and see you in-game! Edit: Thank you very much princess for helping me fix the grammar in my thread! |

O.o Finally, a small tutorial to teach people to play Zezenia. I was thinking about making one of these to help the many friends in-which I am getting into this game; they've never played games like these, so this should help.
Thumbs up for this one! =^] ~Jabba |
