I propose that barbs raise melee faster, and paladins raise defense faster.

Yea, because people are already high level paladins and they would just bitch and complain, like people do.

Barbarians are fighters, with low Defense.

Paladins are supposed to be tanks. Why should a tank do as much dmg as a barbarian with a weapon?

Why would a tank be as skilled with a weapon at doing dmg as a barbarian?
Why would a barbarian be as skilled at defending as a paladin?

Please your thread is about making high leveled people's life's easy by reducing their death cost and increasing the lower levels.
Mine at least brings some reality into the situation, and at least makes sense.

It's already harder to gain defending than gaining melee. This would make it so that paladins have to train more than barbarians wouldn't it?
